Wow..can't believe that it has been so long since I updated anything other than the Hummers on here!! May just kind of flew by and now June is almost gone!
I spent most of May and June working on the back and front yards here at our house. There is a slide show in the right margin showing the process and final result! Why, you might ask? Well, although this is only a rental, we will be here for at least another year and 1/2 and there was NOTHING but rock in the backyard...and not much more in the front! We are blessed that all of our subcontractor's took care of this for us and built the waterfall and poured the concrete decks free of charge. I picked up the plants and planted them with the help of a couple of laborers! Because everyone was helping out for free...it seemed to take forever!..but the end result is amazing!
Kenny is still healing from his knee surgery. His knee is doing VERY well, but because it went so long before he actually had the surgery his low back was severely affected. It has been a very long, slow process to get the back stronger and he still has a way to go. It does not help that as we age mornings are always a little more difficult..just seems to be more creaks in the morning!!
We were in California the first week of June to visit a multitude of family!! We left Saturday, May 30th, at 7am and drove down to my brother Allan's and dropped off the Doodles...(us of course! Mom forgets that we are supposed to be writing this!!)......
Ok..so this is Coco, I wrenched the keyboard away from Mom!! After a VERY long ride in the car..and a little snack of egg sandwich along the way! (yum!) we got to this house we had never seen..but they had a really nice dog named Penny and a VERY big yard with lots of grass. We got to play in the yard for a couple of hours while Mom and Dad went away with Penny's parents...guess I will let mom tell you about that...

Guess that I am back...We went to my grandnephew, Aiden's first birthday! What a cutie and we are so glad that we were able to enjoy this special time with our family. There were lots of people there, a Jump and Bounce Cage, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and of course Cake and Ice Cream..The theme was the Hungry Caterpillar! Charles and Des did a great job with the decorations and everyone had a great time!

Then it was back to Allan and Barb's to pick up the Doodle's and on to Shellie and Tim's for the rest of the weekend. We arrived at the McLean's in time to pick up Kyle and Kelsey and head out to dinner at IHOP! (Yeah, they just dropped us off with Molly and Sophie like ......but they DID bring us back food!! Yeah! )Shellie and Tim had gone down to see the Blue Man Group and they did not get back until around 12am....
Mom and dad were pretty much asleep by the time Shellie and Tim got home so we took our lives in our hands riding in the car with them...but we did make it to something called a "motel" where we found 2 beds..one for Mom and me and one for Dad and Sabrina! Very comfy! If I could only get this "potty on command" thing down we would be OK..I think it is very undignified..I would rather just wait until we get back to Molly and Sophie's house...but Sabrina, she obviously can "potty" anywhere mom tells us to!! Soon enough we did go back to Molly and Sophie's house and we got to stay with them again, while Tim, Shellie, Kyle, Kelsey, Mom and Dad went somewhere that is named after me..Coco's..to have some breakfast! After breakfast Mom and Kelsey took us to the Beach...Wheeeeeee....We LOVE the beach..even though it was overcast and a little chilly mom put on her swimsuit and got in the water with us..it was SOOOOOO... much fun! Look at these pictures..

....and here we are after a GREAT swim in the ocean..so refreshed and tired!

We spent the night after the beach in the same motel and then headed to another place, mom and dad said it is called Valencia, the next morning. There we found Aunt Dani and visited her new house...Mom took us out to lunch at someplace called a Deli and then to the Dog Park...this is a really nice one and we enjoyed playing with the other dogs, although they didn't have any Doodles! After play time Mom brought us to a new "motel" with a really nice doggie area and we rested while grandpa helped Aunt Dani. Mom and dad let us stay in the car while they had dinner with Aunt Dani, James and some other of their friends...it was very cool and we just slept because we were tired from the park and all of this traveling! In the morning we got to go back to the Dog Park after breakfast...and FINALLY a poodle showed up so we played with her for quite a while until we were worn out! Then mom took us back to Aunt Dani's where Mom said Dad was helping Aunt Dani "fix" her pool..we don't know what was wrong with it, cause it seemed just fine when we got in for a dip! Was great to cool off! We really miss having a pool at our house..but Mom and Dad built us a great little pond so we cool off in that! After we were all dried off Mom said it was time to go back home!and...... off we went! Here we are ready to "hit the road" again!!

Sabrina did have a little bit of a problem with nerves..she is a little bit shyer than I am and we did meet a lot of new people along the way..but I think as we travel more she will get more comfortable! She loves the ocean and any water as much as I do, so as long as Mom and Dad bribe us with "a swim"..we will go along with almost anything!

All in all..we had a great time and can not wait for our next "Road Trip"!
